About Coach Greg

I grew up loving football. I am from a small town east of Kansas City where football and wrestling are king. I grew up in a Christian home and attended Church regularly. That said, I didn’t fully grasp Christ’s gift and grace until I was 15. That is when I fully accepted him. I was involved in an FCA huddle when I was in school. We would meet in my Geometry teacher’s classroom. So I love the FCA mission and am grateful to have stumbled upon this club since moving to Arizona from Missouri 3 years ago.

I started coaching football as a sophomore in High School to help with my younger brothers’ teams. I enlisted in the Marine Corps shortly after graduation. This is where my love for mentoring young people and serving others was fostered. While in the Marine Corps, I continued coaching youth sports and was also involved in the “Young Marines” program as an instructor. Our “Young Marines” detachment was in an area where there were a lot of broken homes and young people that had a hunger for structure and guidance. I love seeing the difference in young people when they begin to develop confidence in themselves and finally come out of their shells. This is why I will continue to do this even after all of my kids have aged out of youth sports.

Favorite Hobby: Golf and being in the woods on my SxS
Family: Married to Coach Jana. We have 6 kids ranging from 10 - 25
